I'm having trouble creating an administrative install of Outlook 2000. I have gone through the following tutorial with no luck.

When I run setup.exe /a data1.msi it does not prompt me for the installation location. I am trying to deploy Outlook 2000 via GPO within our organization. I tried to release this on a test OU and the installation would get stuck. I checked the logs and found no useful information.

Has anybody ever deployed only Outlook 2000 via GPO? Can somebody point me to a guide or something?

Thanks

Joe

The data1.msi was an example in the example. You need to find the name of the msi file you actually want to use (for example pro11.msi etc).

In all honesty I would use the full ORK and simplify it that way, you can enter all of the information you need that way and then roll out the application using the MST file that would be created (eg setup.exe transforms="Custom.mst"), you can even create a bat file with that command in it and have it run like that instead.

The real world is not about exam scores, it's about ability.

Thank you. We were able to get this working.
