Is there a way, without deleting the fonts from my system, to narrow the list of fonts in InDesign CS?

For a 190ish page document, I'm going to use 4 fonts, and I'd like an easy way to select from just those fonts, rather than having to scroll through dozens of choices. Seems like it would be an option similar to color swatches. There are millions of possible colors and I'm not forced to scroll through every one of them; I just select the ones I need for a swatch list. Why can't fonts work the same way (or do they)?

My cursory searches of InDesign help, this and other forums, and Google don't give me much hope, but perhaps someone is aware of some easy option I'm missing.

Go to Window menu/Type/Character and/or Pargraph styles.

You can create any style you like and apply it as necessary.

When working on long documents, it's also easiest to change ID's default font to the one you'll be using the most. To do that, quit Id, launch Id, do NOT open a new document, select the font and size and quit ID. When you relaunch ID, you'll have the font you selected as the default.

Thanks. I knew it was something so easy that I was just overthinking it.
