streaming mp3 files using m3u

how can i embed an mp3 file from my server using an m3u stub file,

the code <embed src="music.m3u" autostart="true"></embed> works locally but not for clients.

yes the m3u file has the full path to the mp3 on my server but it still will not play for clients, any ideas would be very helpful thank you.

Just a guess (I'm no expert when it comes to streaming), but I would have thought you would need 2 things for this to work:

1. A Web server capable of streaming MP3 content, and
2. The relevant software installed on the client PCs to receive and play the streaming data.

Are both of those requirements met?

at least from various sites that i have found.

using a link this approach works but not when i embed
