NEW_STREAM
Backup all directories begininng with the letter a
NEW_STREAM
Backup all directories begininng with the letter b-f
NEW_STREAM
Backup all directories begininng with the letter g-l
NEW_STREAM
Backup all directories begininng with the letter m
NEW_STREAM
Backup all directories begininng with the letter n-s
NEW_STREAM
Backup all directories begininng with the letter t
NEW_STREAM
Backup all directories begininng with the letter u-y
NEW_STREAM
Backup all directories begininng with the letter z
NEW_STREAM
Backup all directories begininng with the number 0-9

Will I get errors with directories that do not exist

Netbackup 4.5 FP_5

Any Ideas

You will get errors only if the complete stream does not exist. Meaning if the stream with u-y doesnt have any directories that start with u, v, w, x, or y than you will recieve and error 71.

Thanks for that

Do you know how to backup the directories as specified or do I have to create a directory path for every letter of the alphabet and every number

[b-f]* does not work with Windoows

This does work with UNIX so I am told

Any other ideas

I just had to do this with a windows user server
I used the UNIX notation and this does work
but it is tedious to input.

NEW_STREAM
/D/Users/a*
NEW_STREAM
/D/Users/b*
/D/Users/c*
/D/Users/d*
/D/Users/e*
/D/Users/f*
NEW_STREAM
/D/Users/g* and so on....
basically list each directory that you wanted to place inside the [...]'s
