Strange Word issue. Document is wider than the Page

A friend got a Word Doc. email attachment, and told me that the right side did not display or print. I asked her to email the document to me, and it looked fine. I just looked at it on her Apple laptop, and noticed that the scale at the top of the document showed 7 inches about halfway across the document. On my P/C, the scale shows that the document is 6 inches wide. Anyone know how to fix it on the Mac?

Have you verified that it is with all docs created with a PC? Or is it just this doc?

Have you verified that it does not happen with files created on the mac?

Have you verified that changing the printer doesn't have an effect?
