strange wireless problem

i have a user who has a Acer laptop. all of a sudden their wireless connection stopped working. it used to use Windows to configure it and run but when i stop this it springs into life. as soon as i enable this option it breaks. I've seen something similar to this when there is 3rd party software installed but this seems to be the opposite.

any idea?

Are you using the latest drivers for the wireless card?

it did but i reinstalled them and that seems to have fixed it.
