Hi,

checked my computers system log and found this kind of warning:

The driver disabled the write cache on device \Device\Harddisk1\DR1.

It seems this warning comes at computer startup only. If I check the write cache settings in the System - Hardware - Diskdrives, they're greyed out. Comp works fine, but it would be nice to know what causes this.

Here's the configuration:

MSI 845 Ultra-ARU, P4 NW 1.6 Ghz, 256 Ram, Maxtor Diamond max 7200 rpm attached to IDE-0, Maxtor 740DX attached to on board Promise
133 Ultra-RAID as a single drive. Windows XP Pro is on the "RAID" drive. Intel Application Accelerator installed. Newest drivers for the Promise chip. Any clues? Thanks :D
