STRANGE VPN ERROR

This is my second attempt to get a question answered on this board. I have RAS and PPTP on a Win NT 4 server. I'm trying to connect to with a Win 2000 pro. I can connect to the server, I can ping it and all other computers on the servers local network, I can view file shares using
c:\net view \\w.x.y.z (where w.x.y.z) is a machine on the local network. But I can't browse shares in explorer. Anybody know why this might be happening?
