strange voicemails to mailbox 10

I have a DuVoice 2000 box hooked up to an Avaya system and things have been running smoothly up until a couple of weeks ago when I changed our day and night Auto Attendant RNA. I know just barely enough of this phone stuff to get by for my company. I had a lot of trouble figuring out how to activate the night time RNA because it wasn't working.
I finally got everything to work. Ever since then the girl who gets the notification e-mails for mailbox 10 says that she's getting tons of e-mails (voicemails) that last about 10 minutes each of some strange noise (sounds kinda like when a phone is off the hook).
Then last week a new employee started and was put in the cubicle where the master phone is (extension 10). So I created a voice extension 21 for him and used Feature 11 to forward all of his calls to extension 10. I also changed his message waiting indicator and pager display to extension 10.
This doesn't seem to affect things one way or another but I thought I'd put it in here anyways.
These mysterious e-mails are coming in a lot and I don't know where to begin to troubleshoot.
Any tips would be most appreciated.

Hi analogia22,
I am going to guess that the phone system is not releasing the line on hangups. The caller hangs up and the voicemail basically "times out" and drops the call. In this case you need to work with your local line carrier to ensure that a disconnect signal is sent to the phone switch. The Partner should release the CO line within 1/2 sec. of the line being dropped.
You may have to get a tester on the line to prove your case. Put the system in night mode and call in, hang up when listening to the attendant greeting. The line lights (both) should go out. Betcha right now, the inbound line stays lit.
There are different terms used for this such as "far end disconnect" or "positive disconnect" + others. Get the idea across to the tester, not the term for the condition. They love to play word games.

Thanks Chris for the reply.
I will try it out (crossing fingers...).
