Does anyone knows what it means if i have a file on my Solaris server with a high number as user and group ??
Does that mean unknow user ?

Thanks

Have you deleted any users? Or perhsps the file was extracted from a tar file with user:group info. not in line with those on your server?

All I ask of you
Is make my wildest dreams come true

Are you using nis, it may just be a user who was canned and when that person was pulled from the yp map. Servers who have data on them previously owned by that user will still have all the data, but will not know who truly owns it, so it changes the owner to the UID of the person. when was the files last touched?

I'm assuming you did check the passwd file first of all.
