I have some objects on my file which, no matter what I try, are not able to be 100 % opacity.

For example, I have an object which, my colour palette is telling me is 100% black - but it appears as about 60% opacity onscreen. The transparency setting is at 100%, and the mixing mode is "normal"

Any idea what could be affecting this object? I'm completely puzzled.

Do you accidentally have on overprint preview? (shift+alt+command+Y)

Or that it is part of a group with transparency applied in that group?

The thing I would do view attributes first if nothing abnormal then I would select same problem objects cut and paste in place.

I didn't think of attributes/overprints, but no, that is not the problem.

Nor, is it part of any group.

Also, when use the inkdropper tool, to thry any change the colour of this object, the colour changes, but the opacity level remains the same. No matter what I try, I can't seem to adjust it.

Any ideas?
