Hi all - I am running Outlook 2003 sp1 on XP Pro, and tonight something really strange started happening. If I start up a new email, this string is showing up after my signature:

axcvzxvzxcvzxvc

If I reply to an existing email, it shows up right before the text of the old email (below the address block).

I did a complete system scan with Norton, restarted a couple of times, but nothing seems to make a difference.

I really have no idea what's going on. I checked on Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft to no avail.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...it is becoming a bit of a hassle to clear it out.

Thanks!

What happends if you turn the your email into text mode.... is the string of charictors still there? What happends if you create a new sig?

Thanks for the quick reply, I was testing your suggestions out and while outlook was starting the email - I noticed the "starting word as your email editor" message, so I checked the normal.dot - sure enough, that string was in there...

Go figure - I recreated it and am not having the problems anymore. I've got no idea how it got in there, but definitely something to keep an eye on.

Thanks for the help!
