Hello all,

90% of all our incoming calls are solicitors. I know right when I pick up that it a solicitor by the sound and delay. I have heard that if you play the disconnected tone, the dialing computer will add your number to the disconnected list. First is this correct? And if it is I would like to play the disconnect tone during the call. So on their end it they would hear it ring until I pick up and play the disconnected tone.

Thanks Everyone!

It won't work because they can detect wether a call is answered or not and a busy line is not considered as a invalid number and will be on the "try later" list.
Smart devices those predictive diallers.
You can fake the system using a AA and ask the caller to dial "1" to continue, if not just send the call to a shortcode type "busy".
You can do that in Incoming Call Route, destination = the AA and fallback destination = the "busy" shortcode.
Most predictive diallers cant cope with that, goodbye solicitor...

Thank you Intrigrant,

I may try that. these solicitors here are getting out of control. No, I don't want a free wireless home security, no I don't care my google listing was flagged, and I am truly sick of Sharon my local online google specialist calling me!

Thanks again!

I like intrigrants suggestion as that will thin them out for sure

I have it on my lab system at home as they tend to call at a time I am enyoing my dinner, now something similar for the door bell, does any one have a 10Kv trafo at spare?
That will light them up for sure....

Transfer the call to a fax tone, OTT to a VMPro module. If you're fast enough the machine will catch it, if not...it will be playing that to the solicitor :)

Nice to see your upgrade went well. Figured out the remote relay activation?

Kind regards

Gunnaro,

Yes the upgrade went well. Yes the remote relay works great now!! Thanks again for all your help! The system is actually working just as it should.

Intrigrant,

I wish I could shock them over the phone! Is there an APP for that. I have heard of NoSmoke.exe for computers on fire. Maybe someone could write some code, and we'll call it RemoteIPshocker.exe

Fantastic!

Florida needs a new service: telephoneterrorists.com. (we got it over here, an app just like you want it, sending known solicitor calls to busy tone.)

You can build sort of a barrier, by sending those calls to VMPro, collecting the CLI, putting it in a DB.
After that the number will be barred on your system in the future.

Kind regards

Gunnar

Solicitors? In the UK they are members of the legal profession but I thought in the US they were members of the oldest profession. I guess we'd call them cold callers.

On the old IP Office 400 you could route them through to a built in modem ...
