I have 2 Magix R4.7 connected with an Integra T1, using AdTran Netvanta 3200 routers. I am using channels 13-24 for voice. If you go off-hook at location 2 and dial an extension at location 1, you see the light go orange on the T1 board, and the phone rings at location one. When you answer the phone at loc one, you hear silence. As soon as you answer loc 1, loc 2 drops the call (the orange light goes off the T1 board)and the phone at loc 2 goes to fast busy. So the call is apparently going across the circuit and ringing, but the voice is not following.

If you pick up a phone at loc 1 and call an extension at loc 2, it immediately goes to a fast busy signal and never rings at the desk at loc 2. If you call a DID number that should be passed to loc 2, you hear a couple of seconds silence and then "we are sorry all circuits are busy."

Data is passing over the circuit with no problem on channels 1-12. the ars seems to be OK at both locations, given that as soon as you dial an extension that should be at the other end, the T1 goes orange like it is grabbing and trying to send the call.

The routers (once we made some cable changes) are greened up for both voice and data, and most signifcantly calls from one location actually ring the other - this only works from 2 to 1 as stated above.

I have no idea where to start troubleshooting. We have looked at some data captured while monitoring the Magix and it appears to be OK. Help!!!!

From your description, it seems like there is a channel continuity or signalling issue between the locations.

Any alarm errors on the Magix?
How are the TIE channels 13-24 configured?
Are the switches designated correctly?
Are the channels configured correctly on the Netvanta routers?

I went line-by-line through the PRI programming and came up with a couple of minor differences. There is a trunk in the 891 pool at one location that is not allocated to the router, so I will remove it. Also, the sequence on 1 Magix is lowest to highest for both lines and b channels in the b channel group, and on the other switch is is highest to lowest (23 to 12) for the bchannels and lowest to highest for the trunks. I will make them match.

When comparing these two printouts to another client who networks in the same way with older Adtran hardware, the only other difference I can come up with is the numbering for the remote switch; the switch number on the working client is only listed next to the trunks that are actually supposed to be in the T1, and on this one the switch number is next to every trunk, even if they are not in the pool. I don't know what that switch number causes the Magix to do and if I should remove it from the trunk or not.

There are also some misc dial plan routes that are irrevelant due to changes over the years - I didn't think they would affect this at all (the digits we are removing and matching were for lines that don't exist anymore) but I will probably make all the tables blank just to make sure.

Any thoughts on the above causing problems?

Is the 12-23 for B channels a typo? In your original post you show 1-12 channels for data. So on the Magix your BCH range should be 13-23 and of course DCH is 24. For further info you might want to review the Network Reference document to check the basic functions and parameters for networking using PRI.

Did this tie network ever work or is this a new addition to the switches?

Once again the Magix programming (thanks to merlinman) is NOT the issue. The Netvanta 3200 routers need one end set to "thru" for timing and the other end set to "line" - then it works very well. Too bad their tech support doesn't know that...thanks for everyone's help.
