I am new to veritas. We are running veritas 9.1 on a file/application server. One day it came up with an error when the tape was put in for the nights back up, after cleaning the drive and erasing the tape it told me the tape was bad. So I replaced it with a new tape. It worked fine the 2 backups to the tape.
Now when you put the tape in it comes up with an error " media (x) is over write protected" and spits it out.
Then gives the error " Please insert overwrite able media . . . " I click yes.
None of the settings have changed since replacing the tape with a new one.
If I acknowledge the errors, and continue to put the tape back in after it spits it, out it eventually accepts the tape and backs up as usual.
Is the new tape bad also or am I missing something?
Thank you for any suggestions.
