Hi,

When attempting to mark an extension as private (Privacy Yes) I received this error message, "Deprogram Generic group alert programmed on it before deassigning acd set." The phone extension belongs to a member of our helpdesk who is part of an ACD group. I believe it might have something to do with the generic group alert key which has the label "Q STATUS" and a ring type of Ring. I even went so far as to create a test extension to see if I could get his phone to dial out without displaying his extension but when I tried to remove the MAC address from his original extension to add it to the test extension I receive the same error message again.

Has anyone ever seen this error before and what does it mean? More importantly, how do I set his extension as private so that it won't display his extension when 4-digit dialing a client?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

(we have a Mitel 3300 running release level 4.1 SP2 in case anyone needs to know what Mitel system I'm having the issue on.)

Thank you

When you say 4 digit dialing a client, what type of connection are you dialing across? Internal or external and what kind of protocol in between?

I mean internally from one extension to another in the same office over the same Mitel switch.
