Ciao!
I am writing a program that prints overlaps text to raster graphics. The program works, but it prints many lines over the raster graphic. the PCL file seems ok. I can't understand the error.

Ok, I'm doing something wrong but i can't understand what.
It's my first time with PCL.

I hope someone can help me.

P.S.: I'm sorry for my bad english.

Ciao, Elefante! Can you send me your PCL code and tell me what model printer you are using? I spent several weeks learning how to program raster graphics, and I know what does and does not work.

One of the things I learned was that it is VERY difficult to mix text and graphics on inkjet (deskjet) printers... you must print all the text first, then position the cursor to the start of your graphics and send all the raster images from the top of the page down... you can never use cursor positioning commands again after you start printing raster graphics.

You also will have a lot of trouble printing raster graphics on an inkjet printer in landscape mode. The rotation does not work correctly (at least not on my HP 612c) so the image goes off the edge of the page. I looked at how Windows does that... and what Windows does is work out the math in memory to rotate the graphics, then send the whole thing as a portrait mode page.

That's only true on inkjet printers. On laser printers you can do anything you want!

If you want me to look at your PCL code, send it to pbs at canada dot com. Good luck.

I saw this when using UltraEdit- it was converting nulls to spaces when I switched between hex and text mode. There is an option to fix this.
