Hi There,
I've got a real strange problem viewing JPEG's under very very specific circumstances. I was wondering if anybody has ever heard of such a problem.
The problem occurs when logging on to the Hotmail web site and attempting to save pictures that have been embedded within an email. I start by right clicking on any jpg file and clicking on "Save Picture As" and ultimately save the pic on my desktop. The file gets saved and is the correct size as well but it seems to be corrupted and I smply cannot view it regardless of which application I use to try to view it (ACDSee 7.0, Microsot Picture Manager, Internet Explorer etc). I just get an empty black screen or an white icon with a red 'x' on it.
1)I have several user profiles for different family memmbers on my WINXP SP1 system and this issue occurs in all of them except one (my personal profile)
2) This only occurs when trying to save a picture from within the Hotmail web page and at no other time. Any other graphics on any other web page can be downloaded and viewed with no problem.
3)I can download and view the jpeg's with no problem if I use Outlook Express or Outlook.
4) I have verified that the Internet Options in all profiles are identical and have the "show pictures" option checked and the "Do not save encrypted pages to disk" unchecked
5) I have emptied Temporary Internet FIles on all profiles
6) Dopn't forget that it works fine on my profile just not everyone else's!!1 Very Strange...
I can only assume that there is some setting on my profile that isn't set properly on everyone else's profiles but I am at a loss at this point as to what it could be.
Now before you say that this is an a.n.a.l. issue, keep in mind that while I can certainly work around this issue, explaining all of this to my 60+ year old folks would be an excercise in futility and thus If anyone has any clue, I would aprreciate it greatly.
Thanks Guys!!!!
