Strange intercom problem on 2 sets

I recently took over maint. on a series of networked BCM's. Went to site today on a call where as 2 sets can not call each other using intercom 4 digit dialing
When ever either set calls the other, ringing stops but there is no speech path. Sets have target lines assigned, and Recept can blind transfer to this set and call goes thru, but she can not announce call then press join key.
Recept has no problems with other sets and other sets can call this station, no problem.

These are IP phones. Any help is greatly appreciated.
 
Systems patched to date?

I'd do that first then maybe de register then reregister the ip phone

Its in the network.
The sets use direct media path.

Are the sets on the same site?

 
These sets are on same switch. Biggest problem came when lady transfering calls was unable to announce(screen) who was on the line. Once I explained how to blind transfer, it was not a huge deal.Worked on Norstars 25 years but IP is all new to me. I referred your answer to MIS tech. Up to him if he wants to pursue it further.
