Does not look like there is much activity out here, but I'll try anyhow...
About 1 year ago I started getting some strange garble when I printed a specific Quark file (created in XPress for Windows 3.32). I tried simplifying the file, eliminating .tif files, reducing the number of fonts, starting a whole new file... no success. The problem seemed to "infect" files I created thereafter, although not always. I eventually increased the amount of memory in my printer, got an entire new computer (but still use some old Quark files, fonts, picture files...) and I still have the problem. I only get the garble when I print out of Quark, and it does not matter if the file is large or small, but it does seem to be worse with a larger file. The garble looks sort of like postscript "stuff": vertical lines scattered over the document of varying length and thickness.
Any ideas?

Sounds like a driver problem.. what type of printer are you using..
when qurl prints it produces it's own postsript code. It must have the standard windows postscript driver not a modified driver installed by the printer manufacturer.

This can become obviuos if you are rotating text boxes, picture boxes etc.

You can get even stranger results printing to a non postscript printer as then quark cannot telp the printer to rotate objects etc. When you rotate or modify boxes these are not actually translated until quark prints then it goes off and fins the object and performs the function you have asked on the object..

let me know about the printer and driver verions if you still have a problem...

Wow! Thanks for the reply! I'm using an EPSON "Action Laser 600", and I'm using the drivers for that printer. You say I need the "standard windows postscript driver".. Just install that, and I'll be ok? I'll give it a try. Much thanks!
