Strange footer bug

I used the reports wizard to generate a report from a query. The generated report includes a footer stating "Page x of y"; unfortunately, for some reason, this is too wide for the preview, so every second page contains the extreme right of the footer ("of y") and nothing else.

That isn't the strange part.

Running the report as generated gives me 60 pages (actually 30 pages, since every second is as good as blank, as explained above.)

If I modify the report to avoid the too-wide footer by either a) deleting the "Page x..." field, or b) narrowing the "Page x..." field, suddenly there are only 4 pages in the preview, with vast amounts of data missing. a) or b) are the ONLY changes required to cause the data to go missing.

Is this a known bug (in Access '97), and, if so, what is the workaround?

Thank you!

You need to narrow the page of pages control and any other control that might "bleed" into the right side of the page. Then reduce the width of the report.

When you see only 4 pages in the preview, I expect you are clicking the "Layout" preview option which returns only about 10 records or so.
