Strange folder view issue

Hi - We're running a 2K3 R2 AD domain with 2000 and 2K3 file servers. Occasionally, when users create new sub-folders on the file servers in explorer the new folder doesn't show up until they've hit refresh at which point it displays fine. This happens on both servers, but only to some people and only in some folders. I've checked everything I can think of and it all looks ok, what am I missing?
