strange error on form filter

I get the error "The specified field '[MemberID]' could refer to more than one table listed in the FROM clause of your SQL statement."
I get this using a button that opens a form that has as it's record source, just a single table. I'm trying to filter the open formed records based on the current form's MemberID field. Note that the current form is a single form, while the opened form is a continuous form.
