strange emp database problem

Our NCR local office upgraded our pub to 6.7 about a month ago and now we are having an intermittent problem every few days.

I have not been able to reproduce it consistently and the Local Office was no help. Here is what is going on

Every few days EDC and Aloha MGR start to tell managers that they are locked out for 30 min because of too many incorrect logins.
However, it happens when there are no incorrect logins. Tonight a manager was in Alohamgr and switched to EDC to batch CCs. First attempt to login and he was locked out. Another manager tried to login and he was also locked out on the first try.

I looked in the emp.dbf and it shows both have 1 attempt to login. Lockout is set to 5 attempts.

The only way we have found to fix the problem is go to the dated subdirectory for previous day and drop it into Data and NewData and then the problem is solved for 3-4 days and then everyone gets locked out at random time of day.

Has anyone seen this before?

That happens with certain 6.7.4x versions because of a bug, what is the exact version you are on? Aloha Manager> Help> About

6.7.41 is the version listed

Yup, it's a known issue. Ask your dealer for another small upgrade to fix this issue

I would try the latest version, which I think is 6.7.44 off the top of my head as the other versions had similar issues.
