strange duplex behavier at sfp 1

Hi,
We are interconnecting a 2960 equiped with a cisco 100MB FX SFP to a 2950C.
We get errormessages telling me there is a duplex mismatch:

00:36:48: %CDP-4-DUPLEX_MISMATCH: duplex mismatch discovered on GigabitEthernet0
/2 (not full duplex), with ASW2 FastEthernet0/25 (full duplex).

I have been searching for a long time what can be the cause of this problem but have not been able to find the correct answer.

As it is not possible to configure the f0/25 100MB fiberport at the 2950C and not able to configure the 100MB SFP which is put into port Gi0/2 I wonder what to do to solve this problem.

Any suggestions?

Post a sh run, sh int (of the trunk interfaces), sh trunk and sh cdp nei det from both switches please.

I'll do a sh run etc. today.
To your last reply: I have not a Gbit SFP but a 100Mb SFP module (GLC-GE-100FX) in the 2960 because the 2950C is 100Mb only. According to the Cisco documentation this module is compatible with the 2960.

Hi,

See. Interface GigabitEthernet in SFP module can not configure the duplex until you use the "media-type". If you do not use this command, the interface will go down in half. Do this:

Switch(config)# interface gigabitethernet0/2
Switch(config-if)# media-type sfp
Switch(config-if)# duplex full
Switch(config-if)# exit

Switch # sh inter status | i Gi0/2
Port Name Status Vlan Duplex Speed Type
Gi0/2 connected trunk full a-100 100BaseFX SFP

See now your interface is full !
