Strange chassis layout

I'm building a box for a friend, and the case we've bought is a bit strange; bear with me and i'll try to explain the problem.

On all cases i've seen in the past the slots for end plates for PCI/AGP cards are "recessed" into the case, so the cards can be screwed onto the case.

On this case, the slots are flush with the back of the case, and the right angled ends of the cards poke out through a hole in the back which runs the length (height) of the PCI slots. There is a metal "box" with the case that bolts over this hole. On a dry run, it appears that the cards will screw into this box, but there are no screw holes.

It looks like this box has to be screwed onto the case, then holes drilled to accomodate the cards. This seems strange to me as i've never had to drill a case apart from adding non-standard components.

If anyone has seen a case like this before i'd appreciate their help.

sorted - the most bizzarre case i've ever come across, but it seems to work now.

Takeoff on some HP cases that use a tiedown clamp. You probably don't need to do any drilling.
