Strange characters on dislpay

Has anyone experinced the telephones displaying strange characters on the display such as a string RCRK then above the third soft buton !!! . Once you press the third button it shows . 0ESSE then goes back to RCRK. Any help would be great.

Try unplugging the set and plugging it back in.
If all of the other prompt are in english then replace the set.
I once had a M7310 that showed the word Kill on screen.
No I am not joking it's true and the phone belonged to the company president who was out of town.
The only way to fix was to replace the set.
