strange boot

anyone know what would cause a 5.1 6m1 host to boot up with only / & /usr mounted?

i've fsck'd /tmp & /var. they come back clean, but the mount command returns w/o an error and nothing mounted. same goes for any other FS in rootvg.

same thing happens if i place it into maintenance mode and boot.

Do you still have the proper entries in /etc/filesystems ?

could be a nightmare to fix though if even a maint boot has the same problem
got a good mksysb ?

the stanzas are still there in filesystems.

i'm going with the re-install

i've never seen this before in 10+ years working with aix. all we did was boot it.

mksysb installed worked.

still no clue why this happened tho

Check thro' the bootlog

#alog -f /var/adm/ras/bootlog -o

May find the clues.
