Strange Behaviour

Ok, On my sharepoint server everything works fine, webparts, search etc. My problem is when I go to an external connection and look at the site via the internet it looks ok and i can open links, documents etc, but the more complec functionality doent work like webparts. For example i created a KPI lis and I can open and look at that list on the server and see the indicator list. But when I connect to the internet externally and look at the same page I can open the KPI list and in standard view its empty. If I then switch to the allitems view I can see them? yes on teh server I can see them in standard view. I have have checked the views and they are both the same.

Am pulling my hair out, please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you logging into the site with the same credentials both times? Could it be a matter of the account you are logging in from the outside with not having rights to view the items in the list?
