I am running Desktop PC IBM Think Centre A50 – Pentium4 3.00 GHz Processor and 1 GB of RAM.
OS is Win XP SP-3
When starring computer, all is going normally, but all of a sudden my Desktop become black for a while and after that Windows continue normally to rise.
What can be the reason of this behavior, please.
Another thing I’ve noticed re this machine is BIOS- there is no possibility to set it to start from CD, HDD , USB or Floppy.
I am facing such a problem for the first time

Hi Bronano

The black screen is probably happening when the video driver gets initialized during the bootup process. In the initial stages, a default video resolution is used, and when the driver starts up it will initialize the video system and likely change settings. That may take a second or so, and the screen will also have to re-sync during which time the display may flicker or blank out, especially if it is not the native or optimum screen resolution.

Have you recently installed a new video driver or changed the display settings? If so that may explain why this has started happening. Or, it could be indicative of problems with the video adapter or the screen. If possible try a different screen.

In order to get to the boot sequence on your machine, power it off, power on and flog the F12 key.

The hardware manual(PDF) for your computer is available here:
