Strange Agent Problem - agent on and off

I have a 420 stack (2, SW: 1.1.2.1 , 1.1.2.27) that seems to be working (I can remotely ping stations attached to ports on both units, so uplink fibre and stacking seem to be working OK.)

What's happening is that the agent keeps vanishing for periods of 2 to 9 minutes, with uptime of about 30% to 70% downtime. Once UP, I can telnet in and all appears OK, no evidence that agent is resetting.

There is no momentary break in connectivity to stations attached to the stack when the agent stops responding, at least not that I can detect.

Has anyone seen this happen before?

Did you check the release notes for that version s/w ?
This was a problem for some versions of BS 450 s/w.
If you have a service contract with Nortel,open a case.
