Can anybody explain to me the difference between Solid and Stranded cat 5e cable

I am planning a small network upgrade of 15 nodes which cable should I be running solid or stranded?

Thanks

you should run solid cable from patch panel to workstation terminate at the workstation with a jack

from jack to the nic on the workstaion and from the patch panel to the switch use stranded patch cords I would sugest buying them premade

solid wire should be installed so that it wont be flexed once installed flexing can break down the connection

strande wire is used where the cable will be flexed.

stranded wire has more restance than solid as a result the distance you can run it is greatly reduced
