i successfully setup the BEFSR41 which is in a onQ box, running 4 cat5's to each room in my house, to cat5 wall jacks.

I tried to run another cat 5 cable from the WRT54g to the wall jack, which is going back to the BEFSR41
but NO DICE !

can i use a crossover or as linksys support says, It has to be STRAIGHT THROUGH from BEFSR41 > WRT54G ??

my setup is BEFSR41 > cat 5 > wall jack > cat 5 > WRT54G

i hate to have to run a straight through out of the wall into the WRT54g........thanks Gang !!

You cannot run 5 cables to a BEFSr41, port 4 and the uplink port are shared amd are the same physical port.

As a general answer to your question: router to router requires a cross-over cable, or the use of the Uplink port on one of the routers with straight-thru cable.

gotcha...i actually pulled the cable from the wall, added cat5 connector and ran it straight to the WRT54g

got it.

can u assist in setting up WEP on here or should i repost a new one ??

thanks B !!
