Most of the lines I draw on reports are straight along the vertical and horizontal axes. I create them by holding down the shift key when I draw them. At times a line control will get out of whack and appear slanted on the printed report.

Is there a way to fix them (snap to grid?) so that they stay straight? I ask because some of my lines are short and it's very difficult to adjust them visually -- in design mode they look right.

many thanks,

I use the rectangle tool instead of line draw. You will never get slants with this method and you don't need to hold down the shift key. As you are drawing, you drag the mouse up or down until it appears as a single line. If it is still rectangular looking click on one of the center handles and drag up or use shift+arrow keys to size it until it appears to be a single line. Also, depending on the line style, you could leave it a little thicker which would give it an embossed affect if you wanted to have it a bit more fancy.
