I am a pathetic novice in sybase sqlanywhere, in fact to sybase. I have sybase sqlanywhere, I am using "unload" feature of "sybase central" to get the structure and data of a database. One of the tables has a file field declared as type "long binary". The .mb file for this table shows that it is 500MB big. So looks like the jpeg files are being stored as binary in the database itself.

Now, when I use "unload" feature, the corresponding .dat file for this table is 0 size. log shows that 0 rows written.

When I do a select count(*) in isql, the table shows 0 rows.

Unfortunately the application that uses this db is not accessible.

Can anyone please throw light on what the deal is with storing images as binary? Why don't I atleast get teh number of rows or something????

regards,
Teja
