Hi All,
Is it possible to set up exchange and users in such a way that when someone sends an email with an attachment that exchange can store only one copy of the attachment and links are then sent with the email "as the attachment" thus cutting down on inbox sizes and redundant data?. I have dug around a bit to find an answer but so far to no joy. On the flip side is it possible to acheive this with emails sent inbound where there are multiple recipients for the same email.

Cheers

To store an attachment once in the email store would require "single instance storage" which is only available in products like Exchange Server.

Hmm.

Yes, you can do it. ESM lists mailbox sizes, but the sum of the mailbox sizes will be larger than the store size due to this.

You can also look at Quest's Archive Manager for Exchange.
