Stored Procedures and CR 8

I have a report that is running through a stored proc in MS SQL Server. When I created the report two parameters were automatically created for @startdate & @enddate

I would like to delete those parameters and instead prompt for a single parameter using a range, then use a formula to send the startdate & enddate to the stored proc.

CR 8 doesn't allow me to delete the parameters. Can anyone offer any guidance on this?
