Is there a way to use a crystal report to run a stored procedure? The stored procedure is a simple update query to update a field in the database from 'Manual' to 'ORDERED-Manual'. I was able to create the stored procedure just fine on the database side, which is in MySQL, but I can't get the report to run it. There are not fields for the report. Basically, when the user opens the report in InfoView and runs the report, I just want the stored procedure to run. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
mellicks

Hi,
Crystal expects to 'see' a recordset whan it accesses a stored procedure so one that just updates a database would not return anything to the report...Why are you using a report to do database tasks?

The end users do not have direct access to the database. The only thing they can do is run crystal reports from BOE. We were trying to use crystal reports to accomplish the update via a stored procedure.

Hi,
Wrong tool for that job..If you want to have the users update the database, perhaps you could provide some interface that just did that ( .NET, Java, etc).
