Stored Proc and Table slows the report?

Hey Guys,

I am working on a report using stored procedure. It works fine but when i added a table as a source table for my parameters, it slows down the report or worst it just hang. Any suggestions or work around on this?

Don't add a table

Try using the Add Command under the data source and paste in SQL, as in:

select field from table

Now use that as the source for the parameter.

Make sure that you do NOT link the command object to the SP.

And in the future, please state your software version and the database, you'll get better results.
