I came in this morning and Store.exe was running out of control. It was slowly eating up Virtual Memory. This is not usual for this server. I ended up having to reboot after one user couldn't open e-mails. His laptop does do Synchronization for when he is at home.

After the reboot same difficulty.

I am running Exchange 5.5 SP4 on a P3 700 and 256 MB RAM.
There is over 3 GB of free HD space. I only have 50 users.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Running out of control? Store.exe is known to eat up a lot of ram and resources when it needs it. Yes out of the blue it'll just start doing it, from what I've read it is normal and there is no cause for concern.

On one hand we have Exchange full of holes, problems and limitations. On the other, we have PostFix or SendMail which is not. Even something LDAP/IMAP Capable. Geez. To add to a hilt of problems; there isn't even a 'lite' 2000/2003 edition.

snmplan: With Exchange 2000 Exchange would like about 700mb of ram and a couple gigs to sprawl out upon if you have even 10 emails. Ridiclous I tell ya. Absolutly ridiclous.
