Hello all, i have a L20 library with ibm lto1 drives in it. Have found some cheap storagetek LTO2 LVD drives for a model called TX40.

My guess is have the same storagetek firmware, so i can just mount them in the trays for the L20 and get them to work??

is this correct?

regards,
jesper

Don't count on it. STK didn't make and LTO drives. It is either IBM, HP, or Seagate. None of them have the same trays for the L20. They have different mounting holes and different library interface cables. So, unless they are actually IBM drives, they wont work on your existing trays.
