storagetek l180 fsc error 3e23

Hello,

my storagetek l180 constantly gets a service required when loading a tape into a lto drive.
In the fsc log of the robot I find a 3e23 message.
It seems hard, if not impossible to find a descriptive file with the fsc errors in it.

Does anyone know what this error message means ?

FSC Error 3e23 means the following:

ERR_DRV_REWIND_WAIT_EMPTY_STATE,
DRV Wait for Rewind Failed - Empty State reported during wait.
FRU: LOCATION: CONFIDENCE %:
DRIVE LIBRARY 90
LOGICAL ERROR S/W 10

This sounds to me like the your software is trying to rewind/unload a drive that is empty.

Or its trying to soon to access the drive. A good application/Driver does TURs till the drive says its ready, a bad one just hits the drive with something. Fast drive load disable MIGHT fix the problem, but will make the library slower.......you will not notice this if you only have one drive......
Fast drive load on is the standard for all correctly written applications.........!
