Is there an easy way to move data from standard aix files
to a sql server so the information can be housed for long term storage?

More info. please. Are we talking translating flat delimited or fixed-length files into SQL server tables?

But are you wanting to load them into an SQL server table once they're there, or just use the other server as a repository for the files 'as-is'? If the former, check out the SQL server forum fro advice. If the latter, you can transfer the files using ftp.

yes i want to load them into a sql server table

where is the sql server forum located

Do a forum search for SQL Server and choose the appropriate one (programming seems most so, possibly Forum183 ). Then do a keyword search within that forum for text file or import. If nothing turns up (I'm sure it will) post a question in the forum. HTH.
