lscfg -vl hdisk9 would give you some idea as to what type of storage box that FC disk is hosted in.

lsdev -Csscsi will also give you the SCSI enclosure devices (disk backplanes) that the SCSI disks hdisk0 to hdisk7 are attached to.

lscfg -vl ses0 e.g. will give more details, a.o. the hardware physical location of the SCSI enclosure. But I expect the SCSI backplanes to be inside the pSeries/RS6K box (looking at the adapter list tells me that this is not a p4 or p5 partition: it would also show a vsa0 adapter)

HTH,

p5wizard

you are probally running a combination of internal disks and SAN disks, from the looks of it.

P5wizard:
does that sound right?

Yes, Mag, that's why I asked for the lscfg outputs...

HTH,

p5wizard

just making sure :)

still new to AIX, compared to you alteast....

Do a Google for cfg2html. cfg2html will document your system in a easy to read html document.
