My background of over 20 years is in Mainframe Storage. I would like to transition myself into the SAN arena. How can I best get positioned for an entry job in the SAN field? What certification is best?
I don't know a whole lot about mainframes nor their storage. But what kind of storage does the 'mainframe' use? The concept of 'mainframe' is vendor dependent, I was always under the impression they use a variation of SAN.
Mainframe refers to the large IBM systems that were in place before the smaller servers(Unix,Oracle,Sun,etc) came about. There are still many mainframes out there in the larger companies, but are being phased out. I'd like to transition from mainframe storage to a new area.
