Currently we run Arcserve Backup 11.5 to backup 3 Windows-Server 2003 and 25 XP-Clients. Because of a new W2008R2 Server we have to update to r15 now. But I have no idea what options i have to buy.
Arcserve itself for sure, Client-Agents for XP aswell.
2 of the 2003 Servers and the new 2008 use a SAN we have in our network-infrastructe. Arcserve 11.5 Agents are installed on the servers and backup their SAN-Volumes.
But there is an Windows Storage Area Network Option available i saw on the CA website, but i can not found any furhter information about it. Can someone explane what this option is for and if it is an option for me?

to start with just go with what you have by upgrading the same options already installed.

SAN Option - first off the Central Management Option will also be needed. An ARCserve Domain is setup, for each SAN attached server that you want its data to flow via the SAN instead of the LAN for backup the SAN Option and an installation of ARCserve is needed.

In 15.0 Client Agents are now licensed at the ARCserver Server instead of the target system.
