Storage Agents fail to start on W2K server?

Anybody seen this? The Compaq Storage Agents on one of my DL 380 in a SAN are in a constant "Starting" state. As a result several of the other Compaq agents fail also. The server is slow, and it can't see the tape library. Disabling the service makes the server run normally, but I don't have my tape library. Compaq is bouncing me around from server support to storage support, etc.

Suppose you can just try reinstalling the Management Agents.

Tried that twice, selecting the overwrite ewer files option. No joy.

After a visit from Compaq, we determined that we needed to remove BriteStor, reapply update, reinstall BriteStore. This all started when a drive in the library got a tape stuck and it was replaced.
