My solaris box on an NT network sends

Local Master Announcement, messages which make my master browser on NT force an election (filling my evenlogs with crap and using bandwidth I could surf on).

It uses UDP port 138 (same as NT for browser announcements) it is trying to elect itself on its own network/domain but it is one machine within the NT domain.

Can I stop it participating in maintaining a brows list like NT?

It's a very reliable box and I don't want to replace it with another craching, rebooting NT Server.

Cheers all

ironpaw
bruce_taylor@watsonwyatt.com.au
