Stopping services remotely

I want to stop my mcafee virus services on my clients before my backup starts, and then start it up again after it finishes.

i know that i can run pre and post commands in the advanced tab of the job definition, but that won't allow me to stop/start services in the remote machines.

i know there is a netsvc command in the the windows resource kit that can be used to control services remotely, but is there another way to do this?
