I am working with Sendmail 8.8.7 on a Redhat 6.0 box.

The problem I am having is that email sent from Lotus Notes goes through OK, (messages are inserted into a database of comments) but messages sent from Outlook just disappear after being sent. Since our setup is behind a firewall, I would like to completely open up Sendmail. No security at all. [Relaying won't be a problem because of the firewall]
I have looked at the files in /etc/mail/ and looked at sendmail.cf/cw and thought I had everything disabled there, but still no messages from any workstation using Outlook. Any suggestions for checking and/or disabling ALL sendmail security will be VERY APPRECIATED!

TIA-
Jim

Are you 100% certain that it is sendmail that is doing this? What do the logs show? Do the firewall logs show the mail getting through?

The reason I ask is that it may be a problem with the Outlook set up rather than sendmail. If Notes can send SMTP, Outlook should be able to as well.

--
